THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH A NETWORK

Our staff assists with coordinating sales with the La Cosecha Community Supported Agriculture program, restaurants, hotels, senior centers and public schools. We aggregate produce from many small farms to help meet the demand of our customers.

Agri-Cultura works with both member farms in the South Valley and ally farms throughout the state of New Mexico.

The produce is processed at the Mixing Bowl, an FDA registered commercial kitchen, at the South Valley Economic Development Center. It is then packaged to customer specifications and delivered. Most produce was still growing within two days of delivery to the customer.

In addition to aggregating produce, Agri-Cultura provides many other benefits to our member and ally farmers.

Member Farm Benefits:

  • Member farms are owners of the cooperative and are given one vote per farm. They vote on the election of the Board of Directors, prices for produce sold, direction and strategy of the organization, services provided to farms, and other important issues.

  • Member farms make group purchases of seeds, irrigation supplies, season extension supplies, soil amendments, and equipment to provide savings to the farms.

  • Technical assistance and production coordination is provided by our staff to optimize safety, health, nutrition, profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • Training and assistance in food safety certifications, including Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).

  • Member farms, along with the staff, represent the concerns and needs of our farmers to foundations, governments, neighborhoods, businesses, and investors.

Ally Farm Benefits:

  • Technical assistance and production coordination is provided by our staff to optimize safety, health, nutrition, profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • Training and assistance in food safety certifications, including Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
